“Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk” UHD 60fps issues

So I was curious as to how well this would run on the Vero 4K or 4K Plus, and…well - it doesn’t. Hundred of skipped frames, CPU looks like it’s pegged at times.

This is the only 60fps UHD BD that I’m aware of, and was ripped from the original disc.

Anyone else got this one working?

Can you show us MediaInfo?

Cheers
Sam

Yep. Was being weekend-lazy in the hope it was a known issue.

I havn’t played all of it but the bits of it I tested seemed to play fine from an nfs share. Have you tried playing it from usb?

Yessir. Same issue.

Would be good to see a debug log then.

Nothing looks abnormal with the clip

Sam

I can upload a clip if that’s easier? I feel like it usually is…

72GB might be a bit large.

Can you give us a 500MB or so clip that can reproduce the problem?

Cheers

Sam

Yep, where do you want it?

PM Sent with file!

Played bits of it earlier without issues as well

Hmm. Well I sent a sample to Sam so we’ll see what he says… Unless I did something wrong ripping it I don’t know what else it would be.

From the start of the movie, when would you have the first skip?

I skipped ahead to around 5-6 minutes in. It’s skipping in the magnitude of 10-or-so every second. With the cache window open, it’s really easy to see the steady count upward of frame issues. Cache is solid.

Hopefully Sam can check on the sample at some point.

I had 5 skips during 5 minutes (05:00 - 10:00) didn’t even notice them.
Cache was indeed steady and the bitrate didn’t even peak that much either.

Hm. Better than me, but still not good. We’ll see what Sam says.
