Black Screen After Install On ATV1

ah u kids/microserfs;-) dunno what nano uses, but in vi, type
:s

which is why the atv continues to remain popular, so why not configure it for component out of the box? or give an option?

It’s not possible: there is no way to reliably detect if the user wants HDMI or component display output. We do provide a reasonably simple way to change this however, and I have explained this in the Wiki

The problem with component is there is no way to auto detect it’s connected that way. It’s simply a video signal out, unlike HDMI.

I can guarantee that if it was preset to component, that everyone running HDMI would be complaining.

To change and save the configuration, suggest you use the “nano” text editor.
(I personally use VI, but people that are used to the typical text editor find it difficult to use)

When I get home this evening, I’ll see if I can get a quick tutorial together.

I have moved the above posts, related to X11 Video Configuration, from HDD install topic, to more specific thread.
