Blastem install

I have been toying with the idea of trying to get Sega Blastem installed on the Vero V but am unsure if it can be done since there are no prebuilt emulators compiled within the Vero V. Has anyone successfully done this and if so, how?

Cheers, Alan

I’m not familiar with it. Is there one for Kodi?

Hey Sam, it is listed in at the kodi wiki addon page for both V20 & V21. Link https://kodi.wiki/view/Add-on:Sega_-_Mega_Drive_-_Genesis_(BlastEm)

Not sure that means anything or not, but that was what was driving the question.

Alan

There’s more detail here:

https://kodi.tv/addons/omega/game.libretro.blastem/

It looks like one of the game add-ons that has to be compiled per platform. I’m not near my Vero to see if this one is in the list that can be enabled.

I was afraid of that, not sure if that is in my wheelhouse of capability or not :frowning: .

Cheers

Depending on how the OSMC folks are building things, these binary add-ons are sometimes included but disabled (that’s how the PVR add-ons are). Before giving up hope, let’s see if one of the OSMC folks comes back with something.

Is it in xbmc-binary-repos add-on as standard?
There are a lot of game add-ons that aren’t.

Quickest way to check is see if it’s available in Kodi add-on repo on another platform like Windows.
Note this doesn’t guarantee compatibility on OSMC.

It looks like it’s built for OSX and Windows. I can see it in the Kodi add-on game addon install area on my OSX development machine.

If it’s not on other Linux platforms then there will probably be a reason for that
