Bluetooth audio output

Hello, i have paired my vero 4k+ to bluetooth speakers, however i can not get normal audio output. There seems to be huge lag/interruptions while outputing sound. What is the problem?

Hi,

Have you installed a2dp?

Thanks Tom.

Yes I did

Hi,

To get a better understanding of the problem you are experiencing we need more information from you. The best way to get this information is for you to upload logs that demonstrate your problem. You can learn more about how to submit a useful support request here.

Depending on the used skin you have to set the settings-level to standard or higher, in summary:

  • enable debug logging at settings->system->logging

  • reboot the OSMC device

  • reproduce the issue

  • upload the log set either using the Log Uploader method within the My OSMC menu in the GUI or the ssh method invoking command grab-logs -A

  • publish the provided URL from the log set upload, here

Thanks for your understanding. We hope that we can help you get up and running again shortly.

Thank you for such a quick reply

Hi,

Do you have the same issue with local playback?

Thanks Tom.

PulseAudio has buffer bloat. As a result, there’s significant lag when playing video. The main use case for now is audio streaming. This is why this still remains experimental

We are working on some improvements

Cheers

Sam

Yes I have the same problem in every content .in fact even menu sounds are laging very much. So basically it is useless right now? Because it is impossible to listen even to music?

It’s totally fine to listen to music, doing that all the time. The delay is <1s so would not impact any constant audio play. If the delay in the navigation sounds distract you suggest to disable navigation sounds. Alternative is to you audio switching addon so you just use pulseaudio when you want to listen via Bluetooth.

When I do still have some sort of bug because playback is very choppy not only laggy. No way to listen to anything  any ideas what could I do?

Ok, surely two different problems. Laggy is a know issue, choppy should not happen unless either the pulseaudio buffers are getting messed up or something eats the CPU.

  1. Does this only happens when you playback via bluetooth or also when you playback via HDMI (using the pulseaudio sink)?
  2. Are you using wired or wifi network?

It happens via Bluetooth. HDMI is all good. I am using WiFi.

Would you be able to temporary use wired to test if that has an impact?

I have tried wired, however same issue. I have tried pairing another Bluetooth speaker - now it works but as Sam mentioned with a second delay. Guess that’s some compatibility issue with my first Bluetooth speaker causing that choppy sound.
