Building a library

Hi i am new here and its a learning curve for me. I now have my vero set up nicely with hard drives attached via the powered usb supplied. I have great pic quality and great sound and i can understand and use the file system to find whatever movies or tv i want to watch from my drives. But i would like to create a library from those stored on my hard drives onto the OSCM skin showing movie and pics with film details, like the video wall i found in ‘design principals of the skin’.
I have tried to look at ways to import the film names from the drives and follow some of the advice i have found here but seems from hundreds of films on my drives i can only bring one in at a time. Am i missing something? also do i need to download a different skin to have the videos list similar to ‘wall’
i have spent hours going through the support pages but dont seem to be able to find a detailed explanation of how create ‘the wall’ type film listing.
thanks
cliff

The Library and basic views are not OSMC specific so any Kodi guides should translate other than screenshots which generally use the default Kodi skin Estuary. If you have problems following along you can switch to that skin and after your setup switch back over to the OSMC skin if that is providing the look your after.

As for the topic this is fairly broad but the path you need to follow is make sure your files are named and sorted correctly…

https://kodi.wiki/view/Naming_video_files/TV_shows

And then you add your source paths…

https://kodi.wiki/view/Adding_video_sources

Which creates the Library…

https://kodi.wiki/view/HOW-TO:Create_Video_Library

and finally how you would get to the side menu to change the layout of the library view…

thanks, i did take some hours renaming the files after reading a basic Kodi guide, so i shall take a look at the links you have given and follow this through.
