Building kernel from source

I’m trying to build Driver for mediatek 7610U wifi dongle and I’m running kernel 4.4.6-3-osmc.
I could not find rbp2-headers-4.4.6-3-osmc and find rbp2-source-4.4.6-3-osmc, but could able to find those for 4.4.8-3-osmc.

So I decided to update my kernel to 4.4.8-3

I used this to compile the kernel and my disk is full and the building aborted with 8gb memory card. How do I delete all the temp files.
Am I going in the correct direction? should I try with another 16gb card?

Now I see that the may 2016 update supports mt7610U. will try that first.

You’ll need a minimum of 16GB to be able to build kernel or Kodi packages, you’re very likely to run out of space with 8GB especially if this same install is actively being used as a mediacenter.
