Can I buffer my music files?

This may be an obvious question but I can’t seem to find an answer for it anywhere.

I have a lot of music in DTS 5.1 format, ripped from my collection of SACDs and placed onto a NAS.

I really like the ability to play them through OSMC and my Onkyo Amp - the quality is great.

Only problem is that it takes the amp about 0.3 - 0.5 seconds to switch into DTS mode. This means that I often lose the very first part of the song. It sounds like a petty amount of time but it does detract from the enjoyment.

Is there anyway to ‘buffer’ the start of the song so that the amp has enough time to switch mode and I can hear the entirety of the track?

Thanks!

advancedsettings.xml in kodi should hold buffering settings

I really don’t know what I’m looking at here - could someone offer me some guidance please?
