I only checked with stereo input.
OK, that’s pretty much as expected. Multi-channel works fine.
When we get a 4.x.x kernel, if it’s still the same, I’m going to look at an alternative way of delivering stereo to HDMI.

I hope this reply is not seen as spam; but, as an engineer, I have to interject that I totally approve of this thread. 
A/V is not my area of expertise so cannot comment on the finer points.
What is clear however (and obvious in others threads I’ve read here) is that the product has an excellent team behind it and the transparency and attention to detail is astonishing.
Can’t wait to get my box…

As a very late follow up: As of the last OSMC update, stereo as well as multichannel LPCM output is now signalling 24 bit output per the AV InfoFrame, if the receiving side signals support. 
The last hurdle for proper 24 bit output via HDMI and S/PDIF should now be cleared. Great work, @grahamh!
