Cannot connect to Samba from OSX

I just bough my friend´s one year old Very V, after my old Vero 4K died. However, I have problems getting it to work with SMB shares.

I´ve installED Samba (why is there no NFS service in the app store, or allmost nothing at all, for VERO V?)

When I open Network in Finder (OSX), I can see both the media server and a line for samba shares on the server:

  • MYSERVER
  • Samba Shares on MYSERVER

If I try to open any of them, it lists the /osmc folder as well as the two USB disks connected to it.

No mater what I click - the USB disks or the /osmc folder - Finder crashes with this error:

The operation cant be completed becayse the original item for "osmc" cant be found.

I´ve rebooted everything, to no avail. Also cleared the DNS cache on the Mac. Nothing seems to help.

Can it be that the same disks were connected to my old Vero 4k server? And that OSX has some idiotic caching that isn´t updated? But then clearing the DNS cache should have helped, shouldn´t it?

Or is the problem with the Vero V?

Hi,

I can’t help with samba, but if you wish to try nfs instead; you can try this plugin:

I would also go with nfs, the smb version that right now is part of bullseye has known issues with Apple devices.
