Can't change skin

Device: raspberry pi 4b
I can’t change the skin from the kodi settings/interface and I can’t swap from osmc skin to kodi standard skin. When I try to change it and shows the " do you want to keep the skin" message after 2 seconds it reset back to osmc skin, any kind of help would be appreciated
