CCurlFile::Open failed with code 401

Hi guys, I’m new to osmc, I installed it on my Raspberry pi 3 and installed simple IPTV addon.
I also added my playlist that is downloaded correctly.
But when I try to launch a stream in the logs I found:
20:43:04.042 T:1331500016 ERROR: CCurlFile::FillBuffer - Failed: HTTP returned error 401
20:43:04.042 T:1331500016 ERROR: CCurlFile::Open failed with code 401 for http://url/file.m3u8

using the same stream in VLC (with the m3u extension) I am able to see the streams.
Is that a common issue?
How can I get it solved?

Hi,

401 Unauthorized error

It seems your your pi has not been authorised for use with your IPTV provider. They normally require the wired network mac address of the pi.

thanks for the reply. That is interesting. How come I’m able to watch the stream with my laptop?

Not sure, but advise you speak to IPTV provider; they will be able to advise further.

I solved it using m3u streams instead of m3u8
