Since I use my Vero V with a 100 inch screen (projector) I would like to get the fonts of the home screen’s menu items smaller. That would not only be more appealing to the eyes but also make it possible to get more menu items on the screen (hopefully).
Note that I do not want to use any other skin like Estuary for instance, since I like the stylish make of the original OSMC one.

Changing the font size only for the home screen and adding more items at the same time is not trivial at all. Unfortunately, the Kodi skin engine doesn’t allow font and list control sizes to be changed dynamically - everything related to this is and has to be hard coded.
I’m sorry, but I won’t be able to give you a simple way to achieve what you’re aiming for.

Maybe it’s a good change request which could be queued for any upcoming release?
No as written, that would require multiple versions of the skin as it can not be dynamically be changed.
You can request this over at Kodi… But I’m not sure this would be a small change the Kodi skin engine, but would require an extensive rewrite. So, don’t get your hopes up 
As a work around, you could trade me your 100" TV for my 55" TV.
