Starting to play an 4k imax file a beautiful planet. Played always with denon x4500h and after switching to soundbar samsung hw-q990f on hdmi1 to samsung q9fn (same for years) the vero4k+ directly hangs. Other files will play ok.

Funny is it plays while having debug on, turning debug off and start playing it hangs direct?.?..

Later while having debug on it started and hang direct. Not sure why vero would hang/freeze when can’t play file.

Any clue?

This is logging after power off and debug off

How is this manifested? If you get a blank screen there may be a CEC issue. Try turning everything off at the wall, count to ten and turn it all on again.

I get an circle in the middle of the screen, like buffering but then complete frozen, even ssh not possible.

CEC is not turned on

Hmmm. This sounds like what I get if I have an issue accessing my media through autofs. Kodi isn’t very tolerant of that. But if you are able to play other files from the same source that can’t be it.

If it really is connected with changing the audio device, all I can think is there’s some sort of earthing problem.

I note that file is HDR10+ which is supported by both your Denon and the soundbar. But for giggles, could you limit the output to BT2020SDR or SDR in Settings->Player->Videos->HDR processing to see what happens?

I can play multiple files before it happens, all via same autofs

I tried to reproduce when it plays, and when it fails, but now everytime it fails in freeze, fresh reboot doesn’t help (which i hoped for).

It starts, and then become black for 1/2 seconds and then returns with freeze circles.

The only thing i did was replacing denon with samsung, cables are all the same.
Vero to denon to samsung tv
Vero to samsung soundbar to samsung tv.

Removing power and hdmi cables done, waited minutes before reconnecting

Rebooted first.

I started with hdr processing auto, freezes.

Power disconnected and connected.

I then applied your suggestion, freezes

With your suggested setting hdr10+ files plays as hdr10.

Power disconnected and connected.

Set hdr to force hdr, rebooted and played other files first, played planet file, freezes.

Yesterday it played once, and when i tried second time, it freeze direct again, so try to recover what was the order of previous files so see if there is something to trigger

Without debug logging.

Again tried do all actions again with debug logging on.

Rebooted and with force hdr, freezes,

Set to bt2020sdr rebooted, played file freezes

I must say that i updated last week to 2025.03 version, before i was on 2024.10 version. But on denon i tested those files as well and then played perfectly. So doubting to reinstall to check, but maybe should get other version of the planet file without the imax enhanced audio.
