Check file spec [black screen; no audio]

Happened maybe once or twice since I have Vero V and I usually just go and find another release.

Basically now 3rd time still not the charm so getting curious.

Initial release:
Black screen, no audio though according to Kore on my phone, the file was playing.
Didn’t try and troubleshoot. Got another release (extract named “Extract Source 1 Episode 1” in link).
It played: watched first episode and half of second episode.
Next day, resuming 2nd episode: black screen, no audio etc.
First episode wouldn’t play anymore either.

Tried few reboots of my setup, nothing worked.
Got a 2nd release (extract named “Extract Source 2 Episode 2” in link)
Black screen, no audio etc - there as well Kore reports it is actually playing.

Before I got into troubleshooting mode, logs etc:
Can anyone tell if the files are “too much” for Vero V ?
I have a vague memory of my Vero 4k having some troubles with too many subtitles in a file (there are >30 of those in those releases)

Video files extracts (15 seconds each)

Per mediainfo, Extract Source 1 Episode 1 (minus subtitles info)

I suggest uploading some logs so we can advise.

hi Sam
Here’s a log - please let me know if this is fit for purpose.
Attempt with episode 2x01 at 2026-03-22 20:29:59.010
Attempt with episode 2x02 (different source) at 2026-03-22 20:30:14.223

Both attempts resulted in black screen, no picture, no sound.

Wondering if this is not the issue, 25 fps

Have you tried a different HDMI cable? It could be that a cable is (for example) capable of working up to 4K @30hz but isn’t capable of sustaining the bandwidth of 4K @50hz and above.

As for the requested logs…

To get a better understanding of the problem you are experiencing we need more information from you. The best way to get this information is for you to upload logs that demonstrate your problem. You can learn more about how to submit a useful support request here.

Depending on the used skin you have to set the settings-level to standard or higher, in summary:

  • enable debug logging at settings->system->logging

  • reboot the OSMC device twice(!)

  • reproduce the issue

  • upload the log set (all configs and logs!) either using the Log Uploader method within the My OSMC menu in the GUI or the ssh method invoking command grab-logs -A

  • publish the provided URL from the log set upload, here

Thanks for your understanding. We hope that we can help you get up and running again shortly.

Hi
Here is a log- I had given up on the original show
But now see same behaviour (black screen, no sound) for episodes of 2 others shows

Here are the logs as per above instructions: Log updated from Vero

I attempted playing both episodes one after the other
Deadloch (2026) - 02x01.mkv
How to Get to Heaven From Belfast - 01x01.mkv

My setup is VERO V → HDMI to Denon AVR S660H → HDMI to TV Bravia KD55A1

Thanks in advance for helping me out!
