Copy Remote Control Unique Setting From Vero 4K To Vero 4K+?

I have been using the Vero 4K for 3.5 years and am very pleased with it and the super support for it here.

@darwindesign helped me out by instructing me how to map the remote control volume buttons to control audio passthrough on/off and subs on/off.

I have just ordered a Vero 4K+ from the New Zealand supplier “Nicegear”.

Is there a way that I can copy the 4K remote settings to the 4K+?

If I do a manual backup of the 4K through the “My OSMC” option like I do before I update the Vero, and then restore that backup to the 4K+, will that work, or even advisable?
I have no wish to brick the new 4K+.

Hi,

The 4K and 4K+ have different remote designs.

The new Vero 4K+ remote should handle things well out of the box. See OSMC Remote - Long Press Keymap Guide - General - OSMC.

Just make sure your software is up to date after receiving.

That backup will work for the keymap customizations I helped you with. It will also work the same with the newer OSMC remote as it did with the previous model. Although it shouldn’t be needed you can also review the pm thread where I helped you with this initially as that contains all the information you would need to manually recreate it again.

The original 4K remote, packed up and I bought another one 21 months ago. It has the volume + & - buttons. I believe that is the same as the 4K+?

Sweet !

Love the support here

That would be the one the 4K+ shipped with originally. There was an updated version of the remote that started shipping this year but the only difference the average user would notice would be that Kodi displays a warning message when the battery gets low.
