Couple of issues with new Vero V

Afternoon all,

I have just taken delivery of my shiny new Vero V - ty Sam for the fast delivery! I had a Vero 4k and 4k+ and it had it running how i wanted it to > i backed up my settings > reinstalled settings to Vero V and have hit the following problems:

Issue 1:

W11 OS, i had the 4k+ set up that through a shortcut on the desktop i could access a HDD connected to my OSMC device which was connected to my TV in the living room. I was able to see my HDD and contents through my PC and transfer files from the PC to the OSMC HDD.

I have tried adding the Vero V new IP to my network (typing in File Explorer) but am unable to see the HDD. I can access the device through Putty.

Issue 2:

Since taking the backup, i have added new movies to the external HDD. When reinstalling the the back up, i can see all the content except the new stuff i had added. When i select update library, it does not pick up the new shows, i’m not even sure it’s scanning the HDD.

Any thoughts on the above please?

Issue 2 resolved!

Although a lot of settings were brought over, some were not. I have 2 folders Movies and TV shows.

The Movies folder content was set to scrape, the TV folder was ‘none’ ie was not scraping. I have added the content to TV shows and it is now scraping for the data - yey.

Issue 1 still remains - why cannot I access the HDD folders from my PC?

Was just about to post back! Resolved.

Yes, i hadn’t installed Samba, i presumed (wrongly) that it would come across as part of the backup reinstall.

Installed Samba, but then hit an issue with Windows Credentials, this post was very helpful and i have resolved the issue:
