Crash experience

I can try get logs if required but just wanted to give my general experience.

I only use wired connection.

I was watching videos as normal, then after a few videos, I opened a video with 4k HDR and it crashed on loading, after that when I tried opening any video it would crash after a few seconds. Even after restarting 3 times, it would still crash on opening video, and even video that I know have been fine in the past. So I unplugged the power on the vero and after starting up it was working fine again. No further issues opening any videos.

I should add that due to an occasional crash experience, I have dropped the UI down to 1080p some weeks back. I also don’t have any addons or any library, just go over SMB and NFS to my NAS.

To me it seemed like a hdmi issue or some kind of video issue?

Hi,

Please provide logs.

Regards Tom.

Hard to speculate what the issue is without some logs.

I sent you both a DM I think with the logs link. Looks like NFS read errors all of a sudden.

Hi,

Are you try the affected files from a locally attached usb drive?

Alternatively you could try mounting the nfs via a system mount using autofs or fstab, these tend to have better throughput than the kodi mounts…

Regards Tom.

I have never had any issues with the NFS and at the time of the issue, I switched to windows on the same LAN and was able to open the file that caused the crash without issue.

So its possible like the NFS client service crashed or something like that?

If I am reading the logs correctly, the crash event is not included in the logs, possibly because of how many times it restarted.

I was watching videos no problem probably 3 or 4 hours, then opened another video and it froze after few seconds, then it crashed and restarted, on first restart I tried open again and it crashed again, some files didn’t look like they could be opened after restarting just a white icon. Then I restarted manually and it was still not right. So I pulled the plug and it started up ok. I think in the logs we have from the second restart or third only i think.

Unfortunately your log doesn’t show a crash. Next time it does crash can you try and upload a log as that will be useful

Sam

There are indeed a number of issues accessing your NFS shares. I would check the server to see if there are some logs there. The client side isn’t crashing – it just can’t access the files.
