Custom lirc map

Hi all,

I am trying to get a remote working on a raspberry pi. I have attached the sensor to the GPIO pin 18. The remote I want to use is a Western Digital WDTV remote but there is no map for it. I have been searching for instructions on how I can setup a new remote but the only things I have found so far are how to connect and use an existing map.

Is there any setting where I can just point the remote at the sensor and have OSMC record the keypress and associate it with a command/function? If not, what is the best way to get the keycodes from the remote?
