December update failed on RPI 2

Hi,

Yesterday OSMC asked me if I wanted to install the new update, I accepted but it failed to install. Everything started again. I wanted the new version to be installed so I connected with ssh and did

sudo apt-get update;sudo apt-get upgrade

and got this error in return :

sudo apt-get upgrade Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done Calculating upgrade... Done 0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded. 2 not fully installed or removed. After this operation, 0 B of additional disk space will be used. Do you want to continue? [Y/n] y rbp2-kernel-osmc-2-osmcwhile processing:edosmc (--configure):-osmc:tatus 255 at /var/lib/dpkg/info/rbp2-image-4.3.3-2-osmc.postinst line 334...................................................................................................] Un E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1) osmc@osmc:~$

in the process I got some advice to do a :
sudo apt-get autoremove

Which l told me that I was running 4.3.3.1 version and removing it would be a critical error, so I didn’t.

doing :
sudo apt-get install -v
did not solve anything neither.

Would someone have a suggestion?

I assume you mean sudo apt-get install -f or?

yeah my bad … -f

So you mean yu used -f and it didn’t resolved?
Paste the output and also grab-logs -A

So how come you don’t have an internet connection?

think I get one :

    osmc@osmc:~$ ping 8.8.8.8
    PING 8.8.8.8 (8.8.8.8): 56 data bytes
    64 bytes from 8.8.8.8: seq=0 ttl=45 time=34.270 ms
    64 bytes from 8.8.8.8: seq=1 ttl=45 time=34.204 ms
    64 bytes from 8.8.8.8: seq=2 ttl=45 time=37.443 ms
    ^C
    --- 8.8.8.8 ping statistics ---
3 packets transmitted, 3 packets received, 0% packet loss
    round-trip min/avg/max = 34.204/35.305/37.443 ms

Strange, didn’t paste log complained about it?

Can you post the output from mount

Looks ok, therefore no idea why paste-logs and grab-logs is failing

me neither :frowning:

The kernel upgrade is potentially failing due to filesystem corruption. A corrupt Perl package could cause this.

I would recommend checking your peripherals and reinstalling

Hi,
I just have a usb hdd as peripherals… what kind of check would you recommend before complete re-install?
