Defective Remote or Dongle?

Hi. Remote not working. I tried pairing it several times.

  1. Remove dongle from Vero
  2. Hold home + ok button and a solid blue light appears from the remote (a little weaker than the usual).
  3. Plug in the dongle to the Vero and the blue light on the remote is still solid. Doesn’t blink.
  4. I tried replacing with new battery. Problem persists.

Is the remote defective? Or can I run some other log/analysis? Thanks.

Did you try to pair again after replacing the battery?

Posting normal logs will show if the dongle is being seen by the system.

This means the remote and dongle are not paired.
A log from OSMC would let us see if the dongle is being detected.

Yes I did. Sorry if I forgot to mention.

I’ll get the logs. Thanks, @sam_nazarko!

Hi,
I have the same problem as eagerbeaver.
How can I send you the logs please ?

Kind regards,
Laurent

Ok. I did it 2x.
1st try (normal usb insert) - log
2nd try (usb insert while trying to pair) - log

Can the user try and pair the dongle in another environment?

By environment, do you mean move to another room? I can also try to have it pair with a different remote if it helps.

Yes – try both.

Ok. Tried different environment. Still won’t pair.
Got another pair of Vero remote:
Remote & dongle in question will be labeled ‘A’ for now; other remote & dongle, ‘B’

  1. Paired remote ‘A’ with dongle ‘B’ didn’t work.
  2. Paired remote ‘B’ with dongle ‘A’ worked.
  3. Dongle ‘B’ with remote ‘B’ apparently worked.

So, remote A seems to have a problem. To be sure, swap batteries of remote A + B to see whether issue moves with the battery.

Already swapped new battery on remote ‘A’. Thanks, @JimKnopf  Still doesn’t work though

Was that the battery from remote ‘B’, or a new battery?

Both. On the 1st post I tried new battery. And during post #12 I swapped batteries.

We can send a new remote
