Kodi 19 just hit the Alpha 2 landmark with commit 54be31bc5c. Is there any chance we’ll see a nightly update to Alpha 2 soon? While we’re on the subject, is there any reason in particular the Kodi 19 nightlies are so far behind git now?

Nightlies will resume very shortly. Have seen sorting out a few build issues and also waiting for buster to be released which is around the corner.

The next nightly will be built on top of buster so there will be lots of updates coming.

Thanks for the update gmc! Debian/Buster 10.6 was just released on 9/26, that must be the version you’re referring to? I appreciate the work you and the other developers do, and am looking forward to the new updates & nightlies!

The repo public key has expired. Please import the latest key to get the updates working again (Not that there are any at the moment, we are still working out a few bugs)

Hi,
I wanted to report an update error and how I fixed it.
Automatic update failed. I don’t recall the message. I could still use the Vero 4K so I did not bother.
I ran manual update later. I got the “OSMC Update Error: Error installing: Please report this on the OSMC forum”. I looked online first.

I logged on the command line and ran sudo apt update
The update failed with some error complaining about GPG error: [...] gmc-18 InRelease: The following signatures were invalid.

Looking furter, I found several other keys to add, the latest being:
wget -qO - http://download.osmc.tv/dev/gmc-19/public/pubkey.asc | sudo apt-key add -

I tried, but same error. Finally, I browsed the folders there and found:
wget -qO - http://download.osmc.tv/dev/gmc-19/public/pubkey-2020.asc | sudo apt-key add -
This installed a more recent key signature and the update proceeded fine.

Curiously, I didn’t think I was still on testing builds.
My sources.list lists gmc-18 main. That must be a left-over from before official Kodi 18.
May I safely remove that line? (and just keep the apt.osmc.tv buster main)

But after running the update/upgrades. My System is still on LEIA… so is it correct that there is currently no Matrix Branch to test or do I miss an important point? Thanks a lot.

There were some Matrix test builds some time ago, but there aren’t any that will be compatible with Buster just yet.
