Is it possible to disable the IR receiver? My projector remote “ESC” button also does the same thing with the vero 4K+.

You can indeed.
But the first thing I’d check is if your projector is actually sending the signal via CEC; rather than IR
What is the ESC button doing?
I suspect going to Settings -> Input -> Peripherals and disabling CEC will resolve this for you.

hmm, I have cec turned off in the AVR, but I’ll turn it off in the Kodi, see if that works.
You’re absolutely right. HDMI link in the epson projector was on. Turned it off and all is good.
