Worth noting: there may be a solution in the future that fixes the purple/green issue when there’s no HDR fallback (DoVi 1 web streams).

Dolby Vision

As you know, we’ve discussed Dolby Vision and licensing details here for a long time. Dolby demand that hardware is licensed with royalties paid. We found some of these licensing terms to be significantly imposing and restrictive of our goal to be an open source media player. But that won’t give you DoVi, it will just correct the purple/green issue.
So it’s better to avoid such files in the future.

If you have a DoVi capable TV, like an LG OLED, the TVs built in player will likely play that file just fine.
If UPnP is enabled on your Vero and your TV is on the same network you could just play it back with your TVs player.
The easiest way to do this is to navigate to the title you want to play on your Vero and using the Vero remote press the “context menu” button.

Then in the context menu choose “Play using…”

Then choose your TV:

This will launch your TVs internal player and begin playback of the file.
From there though you have to use you TVs remote.
