Does Auto HDR Work Regardless of Adjust Display Refresh Rate?

Hi. Does anyone know if HDR works regardless whether Adjust Display Refresh Rate is enabled?

Do you mean that to get HDR output, Adjust Refresh Rate has to be enabled, or do you mean that to do any HDR processing (including HDR->SDR), Adjust Refresh Rate has to be enabled?
