I’m enjoying the new Dolby Vision capabilities on my Vero V and I was trying to Play a FIFA world Cup 26 Match with Dolby Vision 8.4 (HLG compatible) but saw it only played in HLG and Not in DV.
I saw in the documentation, that this is expected, but it would be really nice if that was possible to Play in DV too (if possible).
If needed i’m Happy to Provider logs, Mediainfo, Samples.

Dolby Vision converts HLG to HDR10 because VS10 is designed to work from HDR10 (or SDR). Since we don’t have access to VS10 there’s no point in doing any conversion from HLG. You would just get a HLG->HDR10 conversion with no dynamic metadata. No different from HLG.

I might be mistaken, but I assumed, that Profile 8.4 contains dynamic metadata that is lost when just HLG is displayed? So that’s why I’m confused as to why it has something to do with VS10, isn’t that just for usecases where the display can’t handle Dolby Vision?
OK. You’re right. I’ve only encountered this format as iPhone footage and not given it much time. What is the source of that World Cup match? Online or broadcast?
