DVB-T210 HD TV Tuner, does this work on OSMC?

it worked! all up and running! thanks so much…

Good to hear. Maybe @sam_nazarko could consider including these firmware files in the distro because this dongle is popular, at least in UK, and still the cheapest DVB-T2 stick on Amazon.

I plan to revamp DVB and WiFi firmwares for OSMC in the near future. I have made a note of this post on the list so these firmware files will be included when that happens.

Sam

Hi Sam,

I have recieved the vero 2 and i know its early days but i have this tuner in the UK and i have installed everything as mentioned but the dvb tunder still will not show up in the htstvheadend tv adapters section.
Here is the lsusb readout:

Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub

and here is the dmesg relevant part:

usb 2-1: USB disconnect, device number 2

TVheadend is up to date and so is osmc with all of the relevant drivers present, not sure what else to do?

I will backport some DVB drivers for the next update

Sam

Thankyou is that the problem then? drivers?

No idea – as I haven’t seen a full log, but I would guess so

Hi Sam I know you probably very busy with other bits of vero 2 but was wondering if you had back ported those drivers in the recent update?

I have tried this with a fresh install and all the drivers installed (dvb-tuner-si2158-a20-01.fw & dvb-demod-si2168-02.fw) which I believe are pre-installed now in /lib/firmware but still to no avail.

I am a little confused and am now wondering if I should just buy another tuner that is supported? any help would be appreciated

There are different versions of these files knocking around. The ones that work for me are:

-rwxr–r-- 1 root root 2728 Mar 31 2015 dvb-demod-si2168-b40-01.fw (aka dvb-demod-si2168-02.fw)
-rwxr–r-- 1 root root 3944 Mar 31 2015 dvb-tuner-si2158-a20-01.fw

Not sure why they have their exec bit set - probably unnecessary. The dates may just be when I last downloaded them.
