The problem had been fixed in the latest version 2016.2-4
It would be good to know what was fixed if anyone knows.

so how does one install this dongle on the vero 4K via Putty. Also when i run
“w_scan -ft -cCA”
i get
“-bash: w_scan: command not found”
What am i doing wrong?

You need to download / build w_scan manually
Or you can use TVHeadend to tune.
