The error that you have referred to is shown in your log as occurring many times from the 16th of April right up until the 25th of April.
There are no update errors for todays update in the log you posted.
For the problem you are reporting you will need to enable debug mode in Kodi, try to update and then upload a full set of debug logs from My OSMC.

No, I just looked at the apt history.log for the error message you posted, and also noted that the last time APT was called was the 9th of September - so the error you are seeing is causing the update to abort before APT is even run, hence needing a Kodi debug log.

I don’t see any errors with Linux 4.2.1. Looks like you upgraded fine.
It would have been helpful if you had tried to upgrade within Kodi with debugging enabled. Because you have now upgraded, we will not be able to find out if there was a bug in My OSMC or not.
Please follow our suggestions in future for the benefit of others. Your issue is resolved for now, but for all we know, this may affect other users or happen again in the future
