I am a new user to the Raspberry Pi 3 product. My older brother convinced me to purchase the product to be able to watch movies from a external hard drive. After setting up the raspberry, it is not automatically detecting my 4tb ntfs formatted hard drive. I desperately need some help.
How is the drive powered?
The hard drive is self powered
The hard drive is a 3.5 sata III Nas 4tb sata placed in the enclosure. Self powered. USB 3 plug and play.
Formatted ntfs using windows 10.
Self powered? As in it plugs into the wall? Or powered by USB connection? And why do you think it isn’t being detected?
It connected to the wall outlet then USB cable connected to one of the pi USB ports.
I can’t find the drive to see the files and movies on the eternal drive. It comes up on my old laptop as e:/
It’s in /media off the root directory.
