External (Realtek) WiFi adapter/dongle not working with May/June 2017 update

Was working great for a year after this morning update it is not even recognized in my osmc–network and not working as well. Kindly tell me how do i roll back to previous update then today. I am linking my wifi dongle link here

Tried it still not detected neither working after reboot

Kindly give me link to download a previous update .deb file so that i can downgrade to build which was not affected by this iaaue.

There is most likely an easier way. Provide URL of dmesg | paste-log to confirm.

If your issue is that the device isn’t detected at all, then no kernel (previous or new) will resolve this.
Some logs may give clues. I’d be interested in seeing the dmesg output with the new kernel.

Sam

I typed dmesg | paste-log in terminal and got this

That doesn’t look like a MediaTek adapter to me at all, but rather a RealTek one.
Are you sure it’s a MediaTek adapter? I don’t think this is related to the original post.

That would explain why the kernel has given you no change.

Tp link

which is in line with the info given in post #4

It’s a Realtek.

Yes, that’s not a MediaTek device, so the kernel I posted won’t help.

@fzinken says that the above fix has resolved things for him.

That’s your problem
I’ll take a stab at it but it should be discussed in a new thread.

Can you try:

wget "https://www.dropbox.com/s/pvepk50no24t17x/rbp2-kernel-mk2.deb?dl=1" -O kernel.deb
sudo dpkg -i kernel.deb
sudo reboot

And post dmesg if still not working

Thanks
