I got my Vero V a few weeks back. While the Vero V works great, the remote seems to be faulty, it won’t turn on. The instructions say there should be a blue LED, but no matter what I do I don’t see it. I have tried with 3 different batteries, same result. OK+Home seems to do nothing, and it won’t pair. I’m controlling the Vero V with an old USB remote in the meantime, but I was looking forward to the new remote.
I contacted support@osmc.tv twice, and opened a support ticket, but haven’t got a response yet.
I’m writing here in case somebody can help me debug (maybe attach a picture of the blue LED?), or maybe the OSMC team will read this and provide a way forward.
Are you able to check the voltage (3V) on those? And you did take the label off them, didn’t you?
You should see the blue LED through the red window at the top of the remote when pressing any key - same side as the Home key.
Make sure the battery is clean and spring contact is touching the edge of the battery (+ve) by pushing it with a small screwdriver. If necessary, gently bend it out (further towards the battery).
The issue was with the metal tips at the edge (see the picture), it looks like they were not getting in contact with the batteries. I pulled them out gently, installed the battery and I finally saw the mythical blue LED (thanks @JimKnopf!)
It appears that one of the 3 batteries I was using doesn’t actually work, which led to more confussion. But the remote is now working and all is well with the world.
