Found a video with massive video stutter if amcodec is enabled

This video gives me massive frame drops and video stuttering if hw acceleration amcodec is enabled audio is fine.

If I disable hw acceleration it plays without problems.

Another ‘Last Week with John Oliver’?

I don’t know who encodes it – but it’s the most common TV show that people send samples about and have issues with.

I’ll see if I can find anything specific to these videos and what can be done to improve things.

Not sure what it is the mediainfo log doesn’t show anything more funky then other encodes that play fine

Just installed my brand new vero 4k - installed hyperion.ng, then uninstsalled mesa again to find this. John is stuttering severly. It would be great to see this fixed

Indeed – this seems to be the only reported programme that’s having problems lately. My advice would be to try a ‘WEB-DL’ version (iTunes rip). If there’s no problem there, then it may be related to the clip’s encoding.

The last file seems to be NUKED.

So it seems that there may have been some problems with the file in general. There will probably be a PROPER release soon; but that’s outside the scope of this forum.

I’m still looking in to what can be done to see if the clip can be made to play back properly.

The last mediainfo I linked was from the 923.77 MB 720p web-DL by doosh can someone confirm they have problems with the same file.

I don’t want to give too much details about piracy but Doosh is a p2p release group and only scene nukes their encodes if they are not properly done ( not following the scene set of rules )

I hope you’ll find and squish the bug sooner than later

I don’t know if this was fixed on osmc side or not but I can confirm that the latest two episodes of John Oliver played fine with amcodec enabled. It could also be that the person encoding it changed some of his settings/process

There have been some fixes for playing back Live TV content (including files recorded from Live TV). I’m glad playback is improved.

I’m streaming it via wifi across 4 meters. Samba share via fstab.
With the amcodec option off I’m able to view it without problems.
It’s a 3D video but unfortunately I’m not able to provide you a sample.
