After a day of working as expected I began experiencing freezing and crashing once more. This time it seems obvious from the log that something is going on with the connection to the WDMyCloud storage, the next thing that I plan to try is to use an ethernet cable to connect the Pi to the WDMyCloud and see if that makes a difference.
