Frustrated playback issue and add to library issue

Hello folks.

Hardware

  • LG OLED C9
  • DENON AVR X3300W
  • VERO 4K

The first question is the file format listed below compatible?

The second question, why am I unable to add the movie to my library? It says “not found”, in the past I was allowed to edit the search title and select from a list of options.

Should be, you always can play it via Video → files to test without it being in your library.

Seems you have a connection issue at least to trakt.tv not sure if others might be impacted
`

ReadTimeout: HTTPSConnectionPool(host=‘api.trakt.tv’, port=443): Read timed out. (read timeout=24)

`

Please set settings>media>videos>use video tags>[disable] and try to scan to your library again.

Regarding the playback issue is this coming from a NAS and some files play but other do not? Disregard brain fart.

I did play the video file and got audio drop outs and stutter. I did enable debugging and the on screen display was stating frame rate was consistent but while watching the movie it did not feel that way.

When I was watching 1912 I experienced a lot of issues during playback. Since the format is supported any other suggestions?

Is this likely related to trakt.tv? I actually love this app.
I will update use media tags setting. THANK YOU SO MUCH! This never would of occurred to me.

How are you connected to the NAS, WIFI or Gigabit Ethernet?

Either the addon need an update or you have network issue, hard to guess.

I don’t think we’ve ever seen playback issues at all related to use of trakt.tv.

I don’t see how and trakt is working fine on my box currently.

I see a bunch of this during playback…

I would run iperf to check your connection speed

The NAS (unraid) is connected to the network using ethernet.
It should be on gigabit network I will see about verifying that.
NAS is indicating 1000Mbps, Full Duplex, 1500 MTU

Will read into how to use iperf3 and test network throughput.
Could it be storage problem? Even the slowest HDD @ 7200RPM should easily hit read speeds that surpassed 100 megabits or 15 MB/s

And the Vero?

It looks to me like a problem with the file. It appears to be a remux so I’d first try playing it locally (to rule out network issues). If it fails to play locally then it’s a bad remux.

The Vero is wired via Fast Ethernet since it did not come with gigabit network port.

I will see about how to get that file locally to my vero 4k to test locally.
I will test iperf3
I will update my settings to properly add media to library without relying 100% on tags

That might be an issue with high bitrate files
`

Overall bit rate : 74.9 Mb/s

You might want to try:

  1. Kernel based mounts (e.g. autofs) instead of Kodi mounts.
  2. Wifi (5GHZ) if you have a good wifi environment that should be good enough
  3. Get a USB Gigabit adapter.

That is not what that setting is and you want to leave it disabled. There is a bug where the name in a video name tag is not cleaned up before being sent to the scraper so if the tag is anything other than just the movie title it fails. In your case the tag is “1917 4K” but there is no movie by that exact name. If you leave that disabled then Kodi should correctly scan it using the file or folder name your using (which is determined by your source content settings)
