Got Sad face loop - running from USB - cannot install to USB anymore?

topic says it all;
Got a sudden Sadface loop - no errors - no nothing - was unable to break loop , so I thought I’d make another install and keep the old sd / USB for reference and debuging.
Could not for my life get the installation to work with a USB - says Formatting media and never exits that loop.
Tried this on a RPI 2 and on a RPI 3.
Now I have it working, running from a SD card.
Will leave it like that for now - is there any way to get more information out of the installation procedure ?

To get a better understanding of the problem you are experiencing we need more information, including logs from you. Our wiki contains detailed steps for providing the relevant info we need to help you.

You’ll need to go back to running the failing install to be able to grab useful logs. If kodi isn’t stable enough to use the graphical log uploader in My OSMC, then you’ll need to access by SSH and upload from their. All the details are in the article I linked above.

As I said - I was unable to break the loop-
Restart - fail - Restart - fail …
Could not get into the system with SSH before being thrown out due to restart.
As for the failing install to USB - how do I get any log from the installation ?

My mail was more of a “notice” that I had observed problems with USB installation.

  • Don’t know if anyone has succeded with an USB installation lately - but I failed with Raspberries
    one RPI 2 and one RPI 3

I tested it a couple of days ago, as I’m doing work on getting OSMC to boot on Pi without an SD card. I did not experience issues with a standard thumb drive.

Ok thanks for responding, will try again later.
