Graphics glitches after dist-upgrade to March 2025

Today I reactivated my Vero 4k after a long time after I abandoned it due to unstable wifi connectivity. After a dist upgraded it to OSMC March 2025 I learned that the device has reached end of support. I would have loved to continue using it but it seems the latest upgrade also introduced graphics glitches. These horizontal stripes flicker, vanish and reappear. I tried disallowing hardware acceleration in Settings > Player > Videos to no avail. Any ideas what I could try?

Hi

Do you see this issue throughout, i.e. on the splash screen when booting as well?

Sam

Hi, the splash screen is fine.

While those stripes are not typical of HDMI cable problems, see if using a different input on your TV helps, try a different HDMI cable and/or clean the plugs with contact cleaner.

I note your TV claims to do 10 bits but it can’t do that at 1080p60. Try setting YUV422 output. It may not cure the glitches but videos will look better.

Stripes persists for different input, different HDMI cable, different monitor, different resolutions, different refresh rates.

Thanks for testing. I can only suggest a reinstall unless @sam_nazarko has other ideas.

Nothing immediate springs to mind. I’d say reinstall is a good suggestion from Graham.
