Gray monitor/TV playing locale video file

Hood night andò happy new year!
I tried to view with my family a film in mp4 but audio play good and video show only grey frames and artifacts… I can see a little bit the correct frame under the gray screen and pixels… I’m a rpi 1 model b andò osmc with last update.

MP4 is just a container, question is which codec the video uses.
It would be good if we could find out more about the file you are having issues playing. Please see the ‘Playback related issues: using MediaInfo’ section in this Wiki resource for further help How to submit a useful support request - General - OSMC

Depending on the codec you might need to purchase the licenses

Codec video is hevc… Audio AAC… Rpi 1 model b can play this video? Andò modi gas a codec?

HEVC (H.265) maybe (depending on the resolution a bit too heavy for the RPI1 to decode and for that also no licence file would help.

OK thank you very much! I’ll try to convertito in another video codec…

H.264 (MPEG-4) should work.
If you have videos in MPEG-2 you most likely only have success with the codec licence

HEVC is a complete non starter for a Pi 1 to decode in software.

A Pi 2 might be able to decode low resolution HEVC in software but not HD.
