H.265/HEVC MKV not playing on Vero 2

So I have other 265 files that play on my Vero, however, the extension is MP4. I just got Xilisoft Video Converter and converted some videos to 265, however, they only have an MKV extension. I have other MKV files that play (non-265 files), and the converted 265 files play on my computer, just not on my Vero 2. I’m wondering if I am missing something, or if there is something I can do to get these to play on the Vero? Thank you.

Vero 2 will play H265

When you say it doesn’t play, what happens?

Can you post MediaInfo output?

Sam

When I select the video, it “plays” meaning it does not open full screen but shows the time moving at the bottom (no video or audio though), I am unable to make it go full screen (still no audio or video).

I hope this is what you were looking for:

It would be good if we could find out more about the file you are having issues playing. Please see the mediainfo section in How to submit a useful support request - General - OSMC

Thank you!

I’m not sure if it is helpful, but below is a video (MKV 265) that does work with Vero 2:

The MediaInfo looks very short to me.

Can you send me a Dropbox sample?

I think the only good HEVC encoder at the moment is X265. Your video that works was encoded with X265. I’m not sure the encoder you are using yourself is conforming to the specification.
