Hard drive won't work with USB hub

Hi, I had to buy the powered 4 port USB hub, because whenever I tried to play a high bitrate 4K HDR with Dolby TrueHD, the system would collapse and restart. Presumably due to the lack of power to the drive.

My issue however, is that when I connect the hub to the Vero 4k+, turn on the switch to the port so that it lights blue, and connect my hard drive, the hard drive no longer is recognized inside osmo / the OS. What do I need to do in order for it to be able to see my hard drive again? It works just fine when I connect it directly to the Vero 4k, just not through the hub.

Best regards.

To get a better understanding of the problem you are experiencing we need more information from you. The best way to get this information is for you to upload logs that demonstrate your problem. You can learn more about how to submit a useful support request here.

Depending on the used skin you have to set the settings-level to standard or higher, in summary:

  • enable debug logging at settings->system->logging

  • reboot the OSMC device twice(!)

  • reproduce the issue

  • upload the log set (all configs and logs!) either using the Log Uploader method within the My OSMC menu in the GUI or the ssh method invoking command grab-logs -A

  • publish the provided URL from the log set upload, here

Thanks for your understanding. We hope that we can help you get up and running again shortly.

Try a different port and make sure the switch is on.
