The RO solution will not work with the version of FUSE that is in the Debian repositories.
Don’t worry, everything is running and for next time (should not be far from now) that I buy some more Vero’s I’ll format HDD as Mac OS HFS. Thanks for your interest.
Actually depending on how often you exchange the disks between the MAC and the Vero it might make sense to use either the Vero/Linux native EXT4 format (need to be added to MAC via OS X Fuse or ExtFS) or to use NTFS which would allow exchange between Vero/Linux, Mac and Windows.
