Sorry, I’ve been traveling a bit and haven’t followed up.
I saw the other posts about updating using the staging repository. Tried that. No help.
Saw posts from Sam suggesting changing refresh rate from “Start/Stop” to “Always”. Tried that. No help.
The problem seems only to occur on TV episodes. I have yet to find a movie - 1080p or 4K, HDR or SDR - that causes this. And it’s only certain TV episodes that do it. For example, I have “Star Trek Deep Space Nine” that I ripped from my DVD collection. That plays fine. However, I partake of the “DS9 Upscale Project” where they produce 1080p and 4K AI upscales of this series. None of these will play on the Vero V. I get similar results for rips of “The Grand Tour” and “Clarkson’s Farm” but only the 4K rips. The 1080p rips play fine.
I tried re-encoding the offending files using Handbrake. No matter what I try, it won’t play. The “Grand Tour” issues are particularly vexing, as all of these used to play just fine on the Vero V.
UPDATE: For reference, I have a Marantz SR5012 AVR and Samsung TV. If I bypass the Marantz, these seem to play. So it seems to be something the Vero is passing to the AVR that it doesn’t like. Resolution? Refresh rate? Aspect ratio? I have no idea. When it fails, I get audio but no picture. The Marantz displays the “No Source” warning screen.
