HEIC image support

I was under the impression that I could view HEIC images using the VERO V but I only get a black screen when I try to do so. Of course the HEIF image decoder has been set to on.

Is this a known issue? Debug logs are available here: . Thanks!

I see that immediately after it fails to open an heic you are getting messages like:

2025-02-16 14:06:58.936 T:3154    error <general>: CNFSFile::Open: Unable to open file: 'volume1/Media/Stuff/Foto's en Videos/Dovi en Jules/2020-10-24 - 18.40.08 - Ze verzorgen zich.mkv' error: 'open call failed with "NFS4: (path /volume1/Media/Stuff/Foto's en Videos/Dovi en Jules) failed with NFS4ERR_ACCESS(-13)"'

I couldnā€™t say what is cause and what is effect. Are you able to open that directory using the file browser?

Thereā€™s indeed a probleem with the path to one of the collections which I need to fix. The ā€œrealā€ error comes later, starting with the path pointing to the file called ā€œ2021-09-17 - 13-09-56.heicā€ comes the error: AddOnLog: imagedecoder.heif: Decode: Decode error ā€˜Unsupported feature: Unsupported codecā€™

Please note that the HEIC files where made with an Android phone and not an IPhone and they can be viewed without any problem on my PC.

EDIT: Iā€™ve fixed the paths and uploaded new debug logs

Iā€™ve also tried an online HEIC viewer (heic.digital) and the file opens without any problems.

Do you have an HEIC and a link that youā€™d be happy to share with us to reproduce the problem?

Sam

I cannot access my Vero 5 at the moment but this picture has been taken with the same phone as the others that failed so Iā€™m pretty confident that it will have the same problem.

Hereā€™s a picture of my cat which who has a weird way of showing heā€™s enjoying the situation :grinning:

I donā€™t have a Microsoft account. Is there another way you can upload it.

Please also verify the image is affected on your device first.

I was able to copy the file to the Veroā€™s local storage and Iā€™m unable to view it (black screen, no error message).

The download link should be available to users without a MS account, but I uploaded the file to this service as well: filebin.
