HLG/HDR from vdr

Hello,

when I stream from my vdr or tvheadend the UHD Astra Demo channel hlg/hdr is not in use. my tv does not switch… Do I have to do something special?

We do not have HLG support yet. If you mean you don’t get a picture at all, please provide some more information.

To get a better understanding of the problem you are experiencing we need more information from you. The best way to get this information is for you to upload logs that demonstrate your problem. You can learn more about how to submit a useful support request here.

Depending on the used skin you have to set the settings-level to standard or higher, in summary:

  • enable debug logging at settings->system->logging

  • reboot the OSMC device

  • reproduce the issue

  • upload the log set either using the Log Uploader method within the My OSMC menu in the GUI or the ssh method invoking command grab-logs -A

  • publish the provided URL from the log set upload, here

no, I get a picture, but the hlg is not transferred to my tv. but if it is not supported, it cannot… do you have plans to support hlg?

Yes, we are working on it for the next release.

what means the new release? kodi18? I am already on 18…

I mean the next OSMC stable release. Sam aims to get them out monthly. The Kodi18 updates come out more frequently but I think that’s only Kodi itself, not the kernel.

Getting HLG in for November may be ambitious; it’s something we can likely do before the end of the year however. When there’s some testing re. this available; we’ll make it available.
