How to adjust video cache via ssh

My full HD movie does not play without stutter because is has 23.xyz frames other files play fine buy have a higher frame rate and more importantly Kodi says buffering so I figured I have to adjust the video cache, its an 8GB card so there is pleant of room left, but I am an ssh noob, I found the user and password but can somebody be so kind to give me a step by step instruction how to open the advanced settings xml, remember its propably invisible in linux and to change the setting to 20MB+ of buffer, as I am not on wifi it should do the trick because frames are perfectly if not too slow while buffering.

Thanks in advance

fire up putty, or another ssh client.

sudo nano /home/osmc/.kodi/userdata/advancedsettings.xml
