Hello,
second Newbe question…
I ran Media Center Master over the all files on the NAS (btw. it took me 3 days to force MCM to find all Movies/TV Shows), but now I´m not able to import it to the OSMC.
I have one folder of Movies (each movie in separate folder, named by imdb.com) and one folder of TV Show (each TV Show in separate folder, named by imdb.com and Season X subfoder/s).
I have folders “Video Parents”, “Video Kids”, “TV Show Parents”, “TV Show Kids”
So, I went in OSMC menu to the Video / Files / Add files / choose “Video Parents” / named it the “Video Parents” and setup to load DB locally. Same for “TV Show Parents”.
But then I do NOT have the Video and TV Show in the OSMC, but only Video menu (no TV Show menu) and when I open it, I have to go to Folders and then sub-folder and then finally I can see the files. But there are no banner, info, nothing…
But, went I do Video / Files / Add files / choose “Video Parents” / named it the “Video Parents” and setup to load DB from tvdb.com…it took loong time to download everything I have already downloaded in the MCM, and then I have the “Video” and “TV Show” menus in the OSMC…
BUT names of Movies and TV Show are wrong, same way as the MCM before
Question: how can I force OSMC to read the metadata from NAS, which I created in MCM on PC? Thank you.
You’d likely find more relevant info faster by seeking support from the MCM forum or the Kodi forum. The issue seems to be more directly related to them and not specific to OSMC.
Right click/Context Menu on the folder in files and then set content you should be able to choose Movies or TV Shows then for scraper choose Local Content. When you select OK you should be prompted to Scan For New Content, if you aren’t then right click/context menu and select Scan For New Content
Yes, I do…
I set the TV Show, I choose Local Content… DB is wiped/updated… but then …
No TV Show in the main OSMC menu, only Video menu available.
And insied Video Menu is sub-menu Files and there are “Video Parents” and “TV Show Parents”, and inside are folders, but no Poster, no background, no info.
Are you connecting with Samba or NFS? Upnp will not work for libraries. If you’re using samba/NFS best to ask for help in the Kodi forum.
Edit You did have MCM save the info to the library in XBMC/Kodi format didn’t you??
Yes, I mount folders from NAS via cifs (Samba) to the /mnt/“respective folder” (like /mnt/VideoParents ), mounted ReadOnly.
Ehm I just run MCM and it downloaded all files. I did not set anything there.
I have to check on this. Thank you for advise.
OK, issue found and fixed.
I did not setup the MCM correctly, so it did not generate necessary files for Kodi toi import the data.
Once I did it, Kodi on RPi2 loaded everything OK.
