The restore procedure is described in the README on my GitHub page. Copying back the .kodi folder would only restore Kodi’s settings and the database. If you have installed any other stuff like autofs, tvheadend those would not be restored. Besides, it depends why you are reinstalling. If Kodi is broken then it’s maybe best not to restore .kodi as the problem may lie there.
