[HowTo] Setup Zomboided's VPN Manager for OpenVPN

Tested With

  • Device: Raspberry Pi 3 B+
    OSMC Version: 2018.12-1
    Add-on Repository: repository.zomboided.plugins
    Zomboided’s VPN Manager for OpenVPN Version: 6.1.0 (repo) / 6.0.2 (direct)
    VPN Provider: NordVPN

Installation via Repository

  1. Connect to Raspberry Pi via SSH as osmc user.

    ssh osmc@<IP ADDRESS>

  2. Download the latest release of the repository.

    wget https://github.com/Zomboided/repository.zomboided.plugins/releases/download/1.0.0/repository.zomboided.plugins-1.0.0.zip

  3. From the OSMC homescreen, navigate to:
    Settings > Add-on browser > Install from zip

  4. Select the repository .zip file to install:
    Home folder > repository.zomboided.plugins-x.x.x.zip

  5. Once the repository is installed, navigate through the repository’s menu:
    Install from repository > Zomboided Add-on Repository > Services

  6. Install the add-on by selecting:
    VPN Manager for OpenVPN

Installation via Add-on .zip File

  1. Connect to Raspberry Pi via SSH as osmc user.
    ssh osmc@<IP ADDRESS>
  2. Download the latest release of the add-on.
    wget https://github.com/Zomboided/service.vpn.manager/releases/download/6.0.2/service.vpn.manager-6.0.2.zip
  3. From the OSMC homescreen, navigate to:
    Settings > Add-on browser > Install from zip
  4. Select the addon .zip file to install:
    Home folder > service.vpn.manager-x.x.x.zip
