Installing skins from kodi

trying different skins and sort of settled on the aeon tago skin but stuck on wall view, tried uninstalling and reinstalled it but still stuck on wall view so did a bit of looking and was taken to the kodi website
as im new to all this, i see that i can download other skins from the site, is it a case of downloading zio fike onto a usb drive? then into the vero?
would love to try some nee skins but as unsure on how to do this
any advise would be great

The first place you would normally go would be settings>add-ons>install from repository>Kodi addon repository>look and feel>skin. The skins sourced from this location are usually reliable and safe options. You could find a skin somewhere that was packed into a zip file and manually install it via settings>add-ons>install from zip file but you should really avoid doing this as it will not update with updates to Kodi and skins frequently will do very bad things when this happens. The proper way to try a skin that is not in Kodi’s repository is to find its install instructions which should come with a link where you can get a zip file to install its repository. You would then do the install from zip on that, and then do the install from repository thing choosing the repository you installed instead of Kodi’s. When you do this it allows the skin to auto update.

thanks for advise
is there a way of resetting the aeon tago skin without reinstalling osmc
as its stuck on wall view, normally a push to left bring up menu, but isnt working so no way to take off the walk view
tried doing a reinstall but just goes back to how it is

If you uninstall an add-on it should give you an option to also delete its stored settings.

Is the skin you’re referring to actually Aeon Tajo? I see that skin has some required dependencies. You might go to system>skin addons> and make sure the required ones actually got installed.

yes its the Aeon Tago skin, everything that is required is there, just stuck on wall view no way to change view

There is a sub forum on the Kodi forum for that skin. You’re probably better off asking there. You’ll find more people who use the skin and probably even the skin maintainer.

I think I’ve figured out what is going on here. It would seem that skin in the multiwall view does not have any edge where it would navigate into the slideout menu as is typical for most skins in any library view. As such, you would need to open that menu using some other means. The easiest option for you will probably be to use the remote that comes with the Vero and when you’re in that screen just long-press (hold down) the menu button which will trigger that slide out menu to pop up instead of its short-press action of bringing up the context menu.

Sorted, thank you
