Just a heads up in case you didn’t know, that FLIRC USB you have will pass seperate long and short presses to Kodi as long as you didn’t program any long-press actions in the FLIRC software. You can only do it by manually editing a keymap file but it sounds like you already passed that bar. I programed the OSMC remote profile to do a few of these as shortcuts effectively for things like updating the library and making the menu button dual purpose so short press is the context menu and long-press brings up the side/slide-out menu. I have the record button programed on my Harmonys such that when I am in the DVR’s library long-pressing the record button activates the delete action (long-press to prevent accidents) and then in the confirmation box that comes up I programed the short press function to select yes. In this way I can delete a recording once I’m done with it just by long and then short pressing the same button. It is a lot quicker and easier than going through the normal route to make that happen.
Thanks DD, good ideas. There certainly are lots of additions that can be made. I’m sure there will be more that come to mind in future. The biggest problem will be remembering which button does what, especially if I overdo it. I’ve made notes for the wife and reckon I’ll find them useful too as a quick reference rather than reminding myself by looking through the xml!
