Is anyone using a AC wifi usb adapter with the Raspberry PI?

I’m looking to buy a wifi dongle for the Pi but I want to get an AC adapter to go along with my R7000.

I’m currently looking at the EDIMAX AC600

Is it possible to just buy it and plug it in and for it to work right way? Or do I have to do some programming. I’m a noob at programming and usually just follow step by step tutorials.

There are a number of posts in this (and other) forums about using the EW-7811 with success. Unfortunately the full descriptions aren’t there, so there may be devil in the detail which would stop it working.

Perhaps someone with more knowledge of these can give you a better assurance.

Seemingly it uses an rtl8812AU or 8821AU chip so it is possible for it to work plug-and-play.
